HRE Wheels, GE Additive Team to Print Titanium Wheel via EBM

December 18, 2020

HRE Wheels and GE Additive recently unveiled the first 3D-printed titanium wheel created using electron-beam melting (EBM), as described in a new video. Known as HRE3D+, this prototype illustrates the design freedom offered by additive manufacturing, and how the technology opens the door to the use of advanced materials for custom wheels, according to GE Additive officials.

Wheel design and production resulted from a collaborative effort between GE Additive's AddWorks team and HRE Wheels’ engineers.
