Metal Powder AM to Surpass $1.1 Billion by 2024
July 18, 2018According to a new study by Global Market Insights, the market demand for aluminum alloys additively manufactured with metal powders should exceed 27 percent by 2024, to a total of $1.1 billion. More than 20 percent of aerospace engineering companies are using additive manufacturing (AM) technology to make tooling components.
The industry is constantly putting effort into minimizing aircraft weight by using lightweight metals such as stainless steel, titanium, aluminum and copper. Stainless steel, aluminum, cobalt, nickel and titanium powders are the prominent raw materials used in metal powder AM.
